Stuart Nuckols, HIIT Instructor

Stuart grew up playing field hockey, lacrosse and tennis and has always had a love for sports, the outdoors and staying active. After graduating from college, Stuart turned to small-group exercise classes and running to stay in shape. Stuart has been working out at Zinger Fit since early 2013, soon after Kelly opened her doors, and turned her love of Zing into teaching in 2016.
Stuart works at a non-profit, Viridiant, that advances energy efficient, sustainable housing in Virginia. She loves that her career allows her the flexibility to teach at Zinger Fit, because she finds her time with the ladies at Zing rejuvenating. She enjoys sharing her passion for physical fitness and helping women feel strong and confident. Stuart was born and raised in Richmond, has two dogs (Duane and Loretta), and is married to her high-school sweetheart.
Riley Shaia, Barre Instructor
Riley has been teaching group exercise for 24 years and loves to inspire her students to go just a little further than they think possible. She has her masters in physical therapy, although she is not currently practicing, and is a master trainer for Tabata Bootcamp and Barre Above. As a wife and mom of 3 kids, she understands that workouts need to be efficient yet effective!
Beth Buckbee, Cycle Instructor

As a cycle instructor for the past 8 years, Beth loves to encourage her riders to be the best they can be, challenging themselves with each ride and hopes that they leave inspired and of course sweaty!
A University of Richmond graduate and a mom of 3 busy boys, Beth loves to stay active, keeping up with her boys and challenging herself with new activities!
Lauren Boykin, HIIT and Cycle Instructor

Lauren has been AFAA certified since 1993 while teaching group exercise through college. As an active snow skier, past tennis team and track team member, Lauren has kept fitness and wellness an avid part of her life. After graduating with a BA degree in Biology, she made fitness and health care a career. Lauren has been part of the YMCA since 1996 and enjoys helping others help themselves. Lauren’s goal is to push people harder than they push themselves and to remind them that it’s not just about weight loss but to be “strong, happy and healthy” Lauren is a YELite coach & teaches KidFit classes to ages 5-10. Lauren will be adding Personal Training to her certifications this Spring.
Excited to add Zinger Fit to the resume, Lauren looks forward to meeting new members and bringing her challenging workouts to a fresh new group of people.
These days you will find Lauren in the Real Estate business as an active realtor and if you are reading this…..don’t hesitate to contact her for your real estate needs (I’ll even throw in a few home training sessions as your realtor!) She and her husband make up the Boykin Real Estate Team. She has two active, wonderful boys that keep her on her toes.

Claire Gillman, Cycle Instructor
Claire grew up in Radford, Virginia and graduated from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA. She has been a stay at home mom for 12 years, raising her three children ages 12, 10 and 6. Claire has been teaching group exercise classes for 6 years, focusing on indoor cycling and body sculpt. She has her AFAA Group Exercise Certification as well as the Group Exercise Certification from the YMCA. Claire loves music and enjoys putting together awesome playlists for her cycle classes!
Julia Bardrof, Yoga Instructor and Thai Body Work Specialist
Since moving to Richmond in 2001, Julia’s focus has been fitness and wellness, beginning in in small studios, large gyms, inpatient and outpatient hospital settings. In 2009, she opened her own studio FIT Richmond- a Personal Training and Group fitness company. After 7 years and realizing that her self-care had taken a back seat to her business and everything else in life. So she stepped back from business owner and dove into student mode eagerly in search for more holistic ways to heal from the inside out. She went through the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and continued the momentum with Thai Healing Arts, which has proved to be a game changer for the way she moves through life.
Julia brings her joy of movement and knowledge of the body into each session. Leaving you feeling more aware of your body in space, finding muscles you didn’t know needed released or strengthened, and alignment to move you through your days with more ease and efficiency.

Katie Painter, Prenatal Yoga Instructor and Personal Trainer

Katie loves her family, fitness, and peanut m&ms tossed around in hot homemade popcorn (#balance)! After only two years she was tired of sitting behind a desk so she traded dress pants for spandex and became full time wellness professional in RVA teaching yoga, cycle, and almost everything in between. During her first pregnancy she realized that there was a serious lack in prenatal and postpartum specific fitness information, which lead her to what is now her specialty. In addition to working with expectant and postpartum women in the fitness world, Katie is also a birth doula. She believes proper core and pelvic floor training is a crucial part of living in a functioning body whether you are newly postpartum, 20 years postpartum, or even if you never had a baby at all. Expect her to mix aspects of all the different formats she teaches into a fun and safe class. When she's not teaching you can find her strolling around Maymont with her family, hitting up outdoor activities around the city, or fulling embracing the quote "shopping is my cardio."
Emily Bishop, Barre and HIIT Instructor
A self-described “late bloomer,” it wasn’t until her late-twenties that Emily discovered she doesn’t hate exercise. She discovered she LOVES it when she found Zinger Fit. After several months as a client, Emily was thrilled to join the Zinger team as an instructor.
Litigator by day, Emily loves that being a Zinger instructor allows her to step out of that typically adversarial role into one of motivator and cheerleader. “It’s so important for women to support each other, not compete with one another in a detrimental way. We really do need to push one another by building each other up! Women don’t always realize how strong they are; Zing shows them.” In addition to teaching and cheering on the Zinger ladies, Emily loves making killer playlists and sporting her out-of-control collection of funny tank tops.
Emily is an ACE certified barre instructor and is AED/CPR certified.
Fitness has always been a big part in Kelly’s life, starting at an early age with involvement in sports. She played Division 1 Field Hockey and Lacrosse at The College of William and Mary and graduated with a degree in Kinesiology in 2004. During her playing career, Kelly received national recognition as an NSCA Weight Lifting All-American, and was the first woman to earn this honor at W&M. Following graduation, Kelly became an assistant coach for both Field Hockey and Lacrosse at her alma mater and remained there for two years. She was then an assistant Field Hockey coach at VCU for three months before being promoted to Head Field Hockey Coach. After five years of serving as the head coach, leading her team to tie a record for the most number of wins in program history, and receiving the Colonial Athletic Association “Coach of the Year”, she decided to pursue another avenue in her passion for coaching. Kelly has been involved in personal training at all levels and is now focusing her attention to empowering and improving women’s lives through exercise. In June of 2012, she opened Zinger Fit, a women's personal and small group training facility located in the Tuckahoe Shopping Center. Kelly is a Certified Personal Trainer, earning her certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She works with women of all levels of fitness as well as high school and middle school athletes. Kelly loves to see her clients realize their potential and watch them grow in strength and confidence. Kelly is married and has two boys: Jake and Tyler who keep her very active outside of Zing!
Heidi Metzger, HIIT Instructor
Heidi, graduated from Elizabethtown College in 1997, where she was an All- America basketball player scoring 1,674. She was inducted into Elizabethtown College Hall Of Fame in 2010. Heidi followed her passions after graduating college and coached collegiate basketball for 12 years. After coaching she started working for UPS as a preloader and worked her way up to becoming a HR Employee Service Supervisor. When living in Charlottesville, VA she was a top trainer at 9Round boxing kickboxing gym, where she always loved dedicating her extra time to coach, train and motivate others.
Heidi loves working at Zinger Fit where she can inspire females to reach their fullest potential. She works hard to motivate and keep classes fun and energetic! Heidi enjoys spending time with her wife, working out, running, playing tennis, walking and hiking with their dogs.
Anna Hingst, Cycle Instructor
Anna has been a group exercise instructor since 2011. As an avid long distance runner, Anna understands the importance of cross training to increase overall strength and endurance as well injury prevention. She is certified through AFAA as both a Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer. Cycle is one of her favorite classes to teach as she enjoys pushing participants to their maximum effort while motivating through great music and energy. Natalie Schimick, Cycle and Yoga Instructor
Natalie began teaching group exercise back in 1988 while a student at Clemson University, and she became certified as a Group Exercise Instructor through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) in 1991. Having led group exercise for almost 30 years in a variety of locations (Clemson, Washington, DC, Denver, Madison, WI and Richmond), Natalie has seen all sorts of exercise fads come and go (who wouldn’t love to see Clemson’s football team doing old-school floor aerobics?). She particularly loves to lead indoor cycling and is a Schwinn-certified cycling instructor. Looking for something fitness-related to do with her two daughters (now 15 and 13), Natalie began Tae Kwon Do in 2006, earning her black belt in 2009 alongside her then 8-year old daughter.
Yoga also plays a large part in Natalie’s life. Her passion for yoga was born out of a desire to learn and to understand how to utilize the physical body to improve overall health and well-being. Having practiced yoga since 1996 and teaching since 2001, Natalie earned her 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification in 2005 through Scott Anderson’s Alignment Yoga in Madison, Wisconsin and completed her 500-hour training through Alignment Yoga in October, 2010. Understanding that everyone is unique, Natalie’s classes focus on the amazing intelligence of the body through a grounded approach, letting the breath and the body’s intuitive nature be the guide. Inquisition into a harmoniously balanced mind and body led Natalie towards the connective-tissue-based practice of Yin Yoga to complement the foundation of her Hatha practice.
Annie Deutsch, HIIT Instructor and Personal Trainer
Annie played sports all through her childhood, but her real love of fitness began in college; where her outdoor bootcamp class led her to distance running. Annie's numerous half marathons and five full
marathons showed her the importance of putting in hard work everyday. She loves the hustle of a hard workout, but also the positive mental and emotional changes that come after pushing your physical limits. When Annie isn't at Zing, she's either managing a spin studio, teaching Megaformer classes, or at a restaurant eating! Annie loves her family, her puppy and kitten, and being at her family's house on the Chesapeake Bay!

Olivia Donnelly, HIIT Instructor and Personal Trainer
Olivia strives to create a training environment that not only motivates but also empowers individuals to continually challenge themselves in a fun and rewarding way.
Her passion for health and fitness led me to becoming a certified personal trainer with NASM. Olivia strongly believe in the necessity for an active lifestyle, encompassing a balance of all the components of fitness. Over the years, it has given her great satisfaction to pass along her knowledge and enthusiasm with the highest standard of service, safety and professionalism to those wanting to adopt a lifestyle of physical and mental well-being. In addition to being an avid personal trainer, Olivia has embarked on a journey to teach Pilates! Olivia believe not only in fitness but also in repatterning faulty alignment and correcting muscular imbalances. Fitness is here to be enjoyed!!

Gina Bombere, Barre Instructor
Originally from Dallas, TX, Gina has been enjoying teaching Barre in various Richmond studios since 2012. She is trained in Core Barre and Barre Works as well as being an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer. Gina has a passion for fitness and teaches other classes including strength training, dance cardio, PIYO and pilates. She loves to incorporate fun music into her classes!
